So, you want to know about the potential for solar power for homes?
I’ve been reading some quite technical stuff in Wikipedia.org recently. I found out some information about solar power for homes that maybe puts things into perspective. So, let me put it this way …
More solar energy is absorbed by the Earth’s atmosphere, oceans and land masses in one hour than the world uses in one year. Some of that could be used as solar power for homes.
Let me put it another way.
Hypothetically speaking, if we took the total amount of solar power that reaches the surface of this planet, and we captured all of that for just one year, then that would represent more than twice the Earth’s total amount of non-renewable resources (coal, oil, natural gas, and mined uranium) combined.
To be clear, that would be more than twice the amount of non-renewable resources the Earth could give us … ever.
Are you getting it? Can you see what we have here? Are you beginning to see the case for solar power for homes yet?
Of course, because coal, oil, natural gas, and mined uranium are non-renewable, there is a finite amount of it, (hence the growing concerns you may have been reading about recently). This of course is not the case with solar energy. The sun will continue to give us more and more of its invaluable resource so long as this planet continues to revolve around it (which I estimate to be for quite a while yet!)
So, given these facts, which would you think your government should be investing in? … non-renewable or solar power for homes?
Also, might now be the time, as Mahatma Ghandi once famously said, to “be the change you want to see in the world”?
While we are hearing so many bleak stories in the media about our future, when it come to solar power for homes, the future is very healthy indeed.
