Sharp, the market leader in the field of solar power for homes, have just announced the opening of a major environmental education program, the Sharp Solar Academy.

The Solar Academy will provide an elementary school education program that offers the training and knowledge needed to make smart, conscious choices to positively impact the Earth’s environmental future.

Starting with fourth and fifth grade classes at pilot schools in California and New York State, the Solar Academy leverages Sharps experience as a world-leader in eco-friendly products.

Having worked extensively with education experts, Sharp have created a curriculum for the Solar Academy that deals with such topics as climate change, environmental awareness, and solar power for homes.

The US Solar Academy brand follows the lead set by a similar Solar Academy program that’s been running in Japan for the last three years.

Having entered the U.S. solar power for homes market in 2002, Sharp celebrated the creation of its one-millionth solar module in February 2008 and launches the US Solar Academy as the undisputed market leader in the field of solar power for homes.

Sharp provides more solar power for homes and businesses than any other solar manufacturer in the world. One quarter of all solar power for homes systems are installed by Sharp globally.

It’s good to see them taking responsibility with the Solar Academy concept and we at Go Solar Power For Homes Dot Com commend them for this innovative idea and wish the whole venture good fortune.

We hope the widespread placement of Solar Academy schools globally will produce a massive number of graduates for whom going solar power for homes will seem like the only natural choice worth thinking of. This could even take us to the tipping point for solar power for homes. Our collective fingers are crossed!
