Solar Power For Homes – Let The Children Lead The Way
Posted on 2009 under Uncategorized | No Comment26 Jan
At Go Solar Power For Homes Dot Com, we often talk about how going solar power for homes will leave a better planet for our children and our children’s children. So what better way to advocate this change to renewable energy than by one of those children themselves?
We’ve just taken a look at the excellent series of videos jointly entitled Our Renewable Nation. This eco-video project is introduced by 9-year old Carrick McCollough, who, together with the rest of his family, is traveling across the country in a vegetable oil powered VW Beetle.
What a fantastic way to advocate solar power for homes and renewable energy in general! The McCullough family is visiting solar installations, wind farms, talking to companies involved in sustainable technologies, and recording all their interviews on YouTube video.
Rapidly becoming known as ‘the cutest kid to campaign in the name of renewable energy’, Carrick sends a poignant message to all of us grown-ups to not ruin the planet for him and his generation.
You’ll be bowled over by Carrick’s skills as an interviewer, narrator, and general overall star of all these videos. He’s talked to a school principal whose school is running on wind power. He’s presented the potential of solar power for homes, and he’s talked about the benefits of using reel mowers.
The overarching goal of the project is to present these videos free of charge to school children all over the U.S. The videos are designed as learning materials to inspire other young people to see how critical it is to get on board with renewable energy and sustainable living.
As an advocate for solar power for homes and all other alternative energy technologies, I’m in! Carrick is clear, focused and authentic. How could you stand against his simple message of doing the right thing for the planet?
The videos are available to watch on the “Our Renewable Nation” YouTube channel. On there you can subscribe to their feed so you too can find out more about solar power for homes and stay informed as the McCullough’s continue along their eco-friendly travels.
The very best of luck to them!
