Believe it or not, there is a campaign that may well be set to make it happen.

Before a joint session of Congress recently, President Obama expressed his strong support for growing our
economy by repowering America. He called for American leadership and innovation in clean energy technologies and for a national energy policy that shifts the emphasis away from the dirty fuels of the 20th century.

Americans invented solar technology, but the U.S. has  fallen behind countries like Germany and Japan in producing it, President Obama said. It is time for America to lead again.
