Ya, if the deserts were partially covered with mirrors (trough, dish or power towers) not only would the clean energy help offset… but the bright part of the sky next to the sun would be reflected back into space thus making up for the negative albedo caused by melting GLACIERS. What if the solar panels get obstructed? You can easily make a low-energy system detecting shut down cells, which can be mechanically cleared out using machinery powered by stored energy from the panels! It can be a flawless system if you think about it.
