Kyra Sedgwick, a supporter of the Natural Resources Defense Council, talks about her environmental awakening, and why she’s so hopeful about building a sustainable future.

The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is often called the “Earth’s Best Defense”.

This acclaimed organization works to protect wildlife and wild places and to ensure a healthy environment for all life on earth. This, the nation’s most effective environmental action group, combines the grassroots power of 1.2 million members and online activists with the courtroom clout and expertise of more than 350 lawyers, scientists and other professionals.

The NRDC has launched a new strategic campaign that sharply focuses on curbing global warming, building the new energy economy, saving wild places, stemming the tide of toxic chemicals and accelerating the greening of China.

They like to point out that investing in clean energy like solar power for homes is the surest way to create millions of new jobs and whole new industries that will provide an immediate boost to the U.S. economy. The result will be a big step forward in the fight against global warming and oil dependency.

America’s dependence on fossil fuels is a major contributor to global warming, toxic air pollution and dependence on some of the world’s most oppressive regimes. By investing in renewable energy sources such as the sun, wind and biomass, the NRDC believes we can help solve the energy and climate crises. Investing in energy efficiency can also stimulate the economy by creating millions of new green jobs, putting us squarely on the path toward repowering America with clean energy.

Alongside Kyra Sedgwick, they stand for a new clean energy economy and help to repower, refuel and rebuild America today. Find out more about the NRDC by clicking on their website right away!
