The above picture is of a lady called Irena Sendler. This morning a friend wrote to me including he picture. He also wrote me the following email.
There recently was a death of a 98 year-old lady named Irena Sendler.
During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the WarsawGhetto, as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist.
She had an ‘ ulterior motive ‘ … She KNEW what the Nazi’s plans were for the Jews, (being German.)
Irena smuggled infants out in the bottom of the tool box she carried and she carried in the back of her truck a burlap sack, (for larger kids.)
She also had a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto.
The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the kids/infants noises.
During her time of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants.
She was caught, and the Nazi’s broke both her legs, arms and beat her severely.
Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard.
After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived it and reunited the family.
Most of course had been gassed. Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes or adopted.
Thank God for people like this!
Last year Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize … She was not selected.
Al Gore won, for a slide show on Global Warming.
LET’S SEND THIS ONE AROUND THE WORLD!!!!!!!!
GOD BLESS HER May she rest in Peace.

Living just 2 miles from the riots that took place yesteday in London’s City area, I have just sent him a reply and think it appropriate that I copy paste it to you publicly here and now.
Charles,
Thanks for this.
I wouldn’t underestimate Al Gore’s contribution. He is one of the few world leaders from whom I sense any real understanding of what is really going on right now and more importantly what needs to be done about it.
Almost every other political leader seems to me to be more concerned for their job or their legacy to do anything constructive on any long term basis.
I also think there is a HUGE amount of fear – fear of looking at what is so, fear of publicly recognising what a mess this global human community has got itself into.
Brown, Obama et al need to come clean and own the fct that we are careering towards a cataclysmic human disaster story within the next 50 to 100 years unless we find solutions to the global energy and environmental crises and the international collapse of capitalism.
Here’s the thing … You cannot build a house, see it has such major structural flaws that all you can do is stand around watching it collapse and then try to build the exact same house on the rubble of the previous house.
That is why people are taking to the streets in London right now. People are angry.
They need to let that anger out. Then there will be a time for clear thinking and conscious action.
I have faith that Obama is a man who has arrived at the right time. I believe he can unite nations to work together to begin to resolve this.
This may take 50 years or more of struggle before we can live content and safe, addressing the imbalances and injustices of the world.
I am also convinced that where ever and when ever humanity has had a major threat to its very existence we, as a species, have visualised, innovated and created solutions to each and every one of the problems we have faced so far.
We are on the edge right now. We should KNOW that we are right on the edge. Politicians, being aware of this, should begin to act accordingly as leaders.
Meanwhile, in the UK, our leaders are quibbling about expense accounts and stealing money from the state that’s not rightfully theirs in order to pay for porn movies. Talk about whistling while Rome burns … It is truly a disgrace.
It is time to come together for a better world.
These are my thoughts today.
All the best
from Sam

I didn’t realize that Germans knew of the Nazi’s plans for the Jews. If this story is real then the lady really deserves the prize – she did something!
Gore talks a lot because he is a politician by nature and by being wealthy plus unemployed has lots of time on his hands and has zero responsibility for anything.
The prize was just the eurowhiners kicking Bush (not that he didn’t deserve it).
It would be interesting to see an update on Gore’s utility bills – that showed his real intentions before.
His personal motto – “Live like always, buy green power and talk a lot”.
