On February 6th, 2009, the Halton Residential Solar Project announced receipt of a grant from Environment Canada’s EcoAction Community Funding program.

The meeting took place at the home of Monika Caemmerer and Heinz Schweistries, owners of HRSP’s first photovoltaic solar installation.

HRSP’s Andrea Arbuthnot welcomed the Honorable Lisa Raitt, Minister of Natural Resources, to speak about renewable energy and the government’s support of organizations such as the Halton Environmental Network and the Solar Project.

Second to the podium was Rabia Yazdanie, assistant project coordinator with HRSP, who spoke about the project.

Finally, Scott Henderson, owner of Sun Volts Unlimited, described the actual installation and the great advantages of introducing residential solar power systems.

Thanks to all those involved in the video, on and off camera, and especially to the Government of Canada for the financial assistance. For more information about the Halton Residential Solar Project, please click on the preceding text link.
