Daryl Hannah is not just a Hollywood mega-filmstar. She is also a vehement proponent for solar power for homes and all things environmental. Her home runs on solar power and is built with green materials. For that reason, I nominate her in the newly created the Best of the Best Awards. Aside from driving a car that runs on biodiesel, in late 2006, she volunteered to act as a judge for Treehugger.com’s “Convenient Truths” contest. Without question she deserves to win the BoB Awards.

Star of  Blade Runner, Splash, Wall Street, Roxanne, and more recently in the Kill Bill series, Daryl is the sound recordist, camera person and on-screen host for her own fantastic weekly video blog called DH Love Life. It is a really great video blog focusing on sustainable solutions.

The following text link will lead you to a great episode where she looks directly at solar power for homes and industry.

Here is a list of the major awards she has won.

•    Best Short – The Berlin Film Festival, 1994
•    Best Fight – MTV Movie Awards Kill Bill Vol.2, 2005
•    Best Supporting Actress – Saturn Award Kill Bill Vol. 2, 2004
•    Best Actress – Saturn Award Splash, 1984
•    Influencer Of The Year Award – National Biodiesel Board, 2004
•    Ongoing Commitment Award – Environmental Media Award, 2004
•    Environmental Activism – Water Quality Awards, 2006
•    Environmental Preservation – Artivist Awards, 2006

Rarely do you see such an acclaimed actress have a list of awards that include as many awards for her activism as she has for acting!

“Please nominate me in the Best of the Best Awards”

In short, I think you should definitely click through and nominate Daryl Hannah in the Best of the Best Awards right away.
