The energy we need is all around us, yet solar power for homes is still not yet widespread.

970 trillion kWh of the sun’s energy actively hits our Planet every day. It is almost shocking that we are using the minutest amount of that almost infinitely generous free resource. This is a hugely available energy source for electricity. Introducing solar power for homes will make a huge difference. It is a great alternative to depleting our already diminishing natural resources and could even go a long way to saving the planet as we know it.

Solar power is relatively new player as a realistic source of electricity. Scientists are hard at work searching for ways to maximize the efficiency levels of solar power for homes while limiting their overall manufacturing costs.

Solar power for homes uses solar panels to make electricity with the help of the energy of sunlight. Basically, the sun’s rays are used to knock electrons free from a panel made of a semiconductor such as silicon. These electrons are pushed into a circuit that has an electrical field. An inverter then converts the direct current (also known as ‘DC current’) into an alternating current (also known as ‘AC current’). All of our familiar electrical appliances can then be put to use using this AC power.

Solar power for homes is seen as a ‘green’ energy that produces no harmful emissions. This is a much sought after benefit given that the alternative is burning dirty fossil fuels. With solar power for homes there is less pollution up there in the atmosphere, but it doesn’t stop there.

Because the panels go about their business effortlessly and silently, solar power for homes brings up less noise pollution as well. This is another attractive aspect in its favor. They don’t have any moving parts, so solar panels and their resultant solar power for homes create very little noise.

Add to that the benefit that this is an almost inexhaustible resource. So long as the sun continues to shine, it will provide clean, renewable energy that we can either ignore, or make good use of. Wouldn’t it make sense to make us of it?

This article is pointing to an advertisement by the German-Swiss company Solon, manufacturer and distributor of solar cells and photovoltaic power panels. While we at Go Solar Power For Homes Dot Com have no financial interest in this or just about any of the companies we write about on this blog, we do believe that their message is a good one. So we bring it to your attention.

Hopefully this advertisement will wake some people up to this incredible resource that we have to hand.

All that and an exploding London bus too!
